HOW TO APPLY

Recommended order of work.

  1. 01Clean the surface and patch nail holes before painting.
  2. 02Apply with a standard 3/8" nap roller in two thin coats.
  3. 03Recoat in 2-4 hours under normal conditions.

PRO TIPS

  • The 400 sq ft figure assumes primed, smooth surfaces — porous drywall eats more.
  • Zero VOC makes it a frequent pick for occupied homes and nurseries.
  • For dark dramatic colors, tintable bases and an extra coat beat one heavy coat.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you open the can.

How many sq ft does a gallon of Glidden Premium cover?

Glidden cites up to 400 sq ft per gallon on primed, smooth, non-porous surfaces. On real walls, PintaClaro's practical reference of 350 sq ft/gal is safer for estimating — 300 or less over fresh patching.

Is Glidden Premium good quality for the price?

It is a solid value paint for repaints and rentals: zero VOC, washable, and decent hide. For high-traffic or high-moisture rooms, a premium line (BEHR Ultra, SuperPaint) lasts longer between repaints.

Do I need primer with Glidden Premium?

It includes primer properties for light color changes over prepared walls. Bare drywall, stains or dark-to-light changes still call for a dedicated primer like KILZ 2.

How is this different from the paint calculator?

Here you see the coverage of one specific product per container. The calculator converts your actual square footage into a purchase in gallons, quarts and pails.

Orientative data with manufacturer sources. Actual coverage depends on the surface, the tool and the application technique.
